Renewable energy firms expand solar and wind capacity in India

Renewable energy companies ACME Solar Holdings and Juniper Green Energy have announced significant capacity expansions in India through new solar, wind, and battery storage commissions.

ACME Solar Holdings commissioned 66.68 MW of solar power and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This is part of its first hybrid renewable energy project, which combines 300 MW of solar and wind capacity backed by a power purchase agreement with NTPC. The company plans to commission the remaining solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27.

Juniper Green Energy expanded its operational portfolio to 2,689 MWp of solar and wind capacity, plus 503 MWh of BESS, following the commissioning of 101 MW of wind capacity across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. This includes wind components for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) hybrid projects and the completion of a 75 MW contracted capacity for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL).
