Renewable energy firms secure major solar project financing globally

Multiple renewable energy developers have secured significant financing for solar projects across several regions.

In the United States, Zelestra closed $350 million in green financing for its 203 MW Reclamation Solar project in Gibson County, Indiana. The project, which is being built on reclaimed coal mining land, is backed by a power purchase agreement with Meta and is expected to begin operations by late 2027. This brings Zelestra’s total U.S. project financing for 2026 to $1.14 billion.

Additionally, Exus Renewables North America acquired a 715 MW solar portfolio from ibV Energy Partners, including projects in Wisconsin and Louisiana.

In Europe, Rezolv Energy secured up to €561 million ($637 million) for the 1.3 GW Dama Solar project in western Romania, with commercial operations targeted for the second half of 2028. Sunrock also reached financial close on a €110 million green financing facility with Crédit Agricole to support its rooftop solar portfolio in France.

In India, Onix IPP secured ₹9.11 billion (~$94.96 million) from the State Bank of India for a 225 MW solar power project in Maharashtra, supported by a 25-year power purchase agreement.
