Renewable energy initiatives expand in Lower Saxony cities

Municipalities in Lower Saxony are advancing renewable energy projects through new infrastructure and public education. In Lüneburg, the city council's administrative committee unanimously approved the allocation of land at Wienebütteler Weg to Kajoni Energie GmbH for the development of a solar park. This project follows the city's ongoing efforts to achieve climate neutrality, including existing solar park plans near the A39 motorway.

In Barsinghausen, the Climate Protection Agency of the Hannover Region, in cooperation with the city and the association Basche erneuerbar, is hosting an information evening titled ‘Alles wird Strom’ (Everything becomes electricity). The event aims to encourage homeowners to transition from oil and gas to renewable solutions, such as photovoltaics and modern heating technologies, by providing expert advice on subsidies and technical implementation.
