Renewable energy investments expand in Romania
Romania is seeing significant developments in its renewable energy sector through major new investments. Banca Transilvania has provided 71.4 million euros in financing to Entek Elektrik for the development of the Eco Sun Niculești photovoltaic park in Dâmbovița county. The total investment for this project is estimated at approximately 100 million euros, with an expected installed capacity of around 205 MW.
In a separate large-scale development, the Danish company Eurowind Energy has obtained technical connection permits for several renewable projects across Romania. A major portion of this plan is concentrated in Botoșani county, where the company intends to develop nine wind farms with a total capacity of 1,188 MW. This specific cluster represents an estimated investment exceeding 1 billion euros. Other projects under the Eurowind Energy portfolio include wind, solar, and battery storage developments in Constanța, Prahova, Brăila, and Galați counties.
