Renewable energy projects advance in Augusta and Emilia-Romagna

Two distinct renewable energy projects have entered formal review stages in Italy.

In Augusta, Megacqua Origine S. r. l. has requested a 40-year maritime concession to install a floating photovoltaic park. The project would cover approximately 55 hectares of sea surface within the Augusta roadstead, divided into two sections near the northern and central dams. The request involves over 900,000 square meters of maritime domain. The Port Authority has opened a period for observations, objections, or competing projects, with a deadline of October 24.

In the Emilia-Romagna region, OX2 Italy Spv 2 S. r. l. is moving forward with a 167.06 MWp agrivoltaic plant. The project spans over 380 hectares across Conselice, Argenta, and Portomaggiore, and includes 16.3 kilometers of underground power lines. A public inquiry is scheduled for October 6 in Conselice to allow citizens to present observations regarding the environmental impact assessment.
