Renewable energy projects advance in Montenegro and Serbia

Renewable energy infrastructure projects are advancing in Montenegro and Serbia. In Montenegro, Nu Energy and the electricity transmission system operator CGES have signed a grid connection contract for the Velestovo photovoltaic project. Valued at EUR 50 million, the project includes an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) to improve electricity management and grid flexibility.

In Serbia, the 300 MW Vetrozelena wind farm near Pancevo is entering its technical-assurance phase. The project company has issued a tender for a licensed contractor to inspect infrastructure, including 48 turbines, a 35/400 kV substation, and a 7.5-kilometre transmission line. The grid connection is being managed by Elnos Srbija, with Sinohydro Corporation participating in the broader construction program.
