Renewable energy projects expand in Italy
Various renewable energy initiatives are being implemented across Italy. In Soncino, Cremona, the Avogadri Agricultural Company, in partnership with EnviTec Biogas and E. GEO, is set to inaugurate an integrated plant on October 16, 2026. The project aims to combine geothermal heat, solar photovoltaic energy, and biomethane production from biogas into a single agricultural-energy model.
In Domusnovas, the municipal administration is progressing with the installation of six photovoltaic systems and storage batteries across public buildings. Funded by nearly 1.2 million euros from the Just Transition Fund, the project includes the town hall, the municipal library, the Casa Pirinu historic residence, and several school complexes. The initiative seeks to reduce energy consumption costs for the municipality amid rising energy prices.
