Italy solar energy initiatives expand across various sectors

Renewable energy projects are expanding across Italy through community, industrial, and residential initiatives. In Torrenova, the Nebrodi CER renewable energy community has launched an environmental education project for young children at the Istituto Comprensivo di Torrenova to promote awareness of shared resources.

In Benevento, the Benevento Partecipa committee is seeking transparency regarding the Olivola photovoltaic project by RWE Renewables Italia. The project, covering approximately 98 hectares with 78 MW of power, was authorized by the Campania Region despite opposition from the Province of Benevento due to concerns over agricultural land consumption and urban planning compatibility.

In the residential sector, Ultrasolar has opened a new office in Bologna to provide localized support for families investing in solar energy. Additionally, a 100 MW photovoltaic and hydrogen storage project has been proposed for the Tuscany region.
