Renewable energy projects launched in Spain
Renewable energy projects have been implemented in Spain to promote self-consumption and energy efficiency. In Puntagorda, La Palma, the Canary Islands Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy completed a 50 kW photovoltaic canopy at a senior center. The installation, funded by Next Generation EU, features 88 bifacial modules and two 25 kW Huawei inverters, providing solar power for the facility's parking area.
In Ciudad Real, the Finca La Cuesta agricultural estate has launched a solar self-consumption system integrated with battery energy storage (BESS). Following an initial 150 kW photovoltaic phase, a second phase added a 125 kW / 257 kWh Sungrow PowerStack storage system. Executed by Elecnor, the combined system is designed to reduce electricity costs by an estimated 75-80% by storing surplus energy for use during peak demand or low generation periods.
