Renewable energy sector sees growth in US solar and storage investments

The renewable energy sector is experiencing significant momentum in the United States, driven by large-scale financing and shifting political landscapes. US developer rPlus Energies secured 450 million USD to accelerate solar and energy storage projects, particularly in the Western US. The company manages a portfolio exceeding 12GW, with major projects like the Green River Energy Center in Utah and various solar initiatives in Idaho.

In Canada, Aegis Critical Energy Defence Corp. secured a second major order from US partner GGV Energy. The contract, valued at approximately 1.35 million CAD, involves the deployment of 14 PWR Flex 261Q energy storage units across multiple US states to provide backup power and peak shaving capabilities.

Following the US midterm elections, Taiwanese solar companies are closely monitoring potential policy shifts. Companies such as United Renewable Energy and Yuanjing are evaluating US investment plans, including module manufacturing, to capitalize on anticipated support for renewable energy from the Democratic Party. Additionally, supply chain players like Shuohe and Canghe are seeing increased demand driven by US solar cell expansion.
