Renfe denies request for extra trains for Xerez-Cádiz derby

Renfe has denied requests from Cádiz CF to increase train frequencies for the upcoming Copa del Rey match between Xerez CD and Cádiz CF. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, at 21:00 at the Chapín stadium in Jerez.

Because the match is expected to end around 23:00, the lack of late-night services poses a significant challenge for traveling fans. The last commuter train from Jerez to Cádiz departs at 22:48, and the last Media Distancia train from Seville via Jerez departs at 23:06. These schedules would require supporters to leave the stadium before the match concludes.

Cádiz CF has been allocated 5,000 tickets for the match, priced at 25 euros each. The club expressed frustration on social media, noting that despite their efforts to coordinate with Renfe, no additional services will be provided. Consequently, many fans may be forced to rely on private vehicles for the return trip.
