Renfe to adjust AVE train schedules for Barcelona, Málaga, and Granada

Renfe has announced schedule adjustments for several AVE high-speed train services connecting Barcelona with Málaga and Granada, effective September 14, 2026. The reorganization aims to better align service offerings with mobility patterns and increase seat availability during high-demand time slots.

The changes will maintain the current capacity and number of connections between these cities. Specific adjustments include:

For the Barcelona-Granada route, the departure from Barcelona Sants will move from 08:30 to 15:41, arriving in Granada at 23:13. Conversely, the Granada-Barcelona service will shift from a 15:35 departure to a 07:55 departure, arriving in Barcelona Sants at 14:54.

For the Barcelona-Málaga route, the service from Barcelona Sants will move from 15:41 to 08:30, arriving in Málaga María Zambrano at 15:11. The return Málaga-Barcelona service will change from an 08:22 departure to a 15:50 departure, arriving in Barcelona Sants at 23:00.

Renfe advises passengers to consult updated schedules via official channels. For customers who have already purchased tickets for the affected dates, the company will provide notifications and has enabled options for free changes or cancellations.
