Ren‑Gas selects Sunfire as primary electrolyser supplier for green hydrogen projects

Finland’s leading e‑methane developer Ren‑Gas has announced a long‑term partnership with German electrolyser company Sunfire, appointing Sunfire as its preferred technology partner for future green hydrogen and e‑methane projects. Sunfire will provide alkaline pressurised electrolyzers, including the newly introduced HyLink® Alkaline 23 system, building on an existing 50 MW unit at Ren‑Gas’s Tampere e‑methane plant.

The agreement follows earlier collaborations, such as Sunfire’s 20 MW alkaline electrolyser at the Harjavalta green‑hydrogen plant commissioned in March 2025, and supports Ren‑Gas’s recent €1‑billion e‑methane off‑take deal with Avanca/Alternoil. Both firms cite the partnership as a step toward large‑scale, economically viable industrial decarbonisation across Europe.
