Reniec begins census for Huánuco territorial consultation
The National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) has begun the census process for citizens participating in a popular consultation scheduled for July 25, 2027, in the Huánuco region. The consultation concerns territorial demarcation and the potential annexation of several population centers to different districts.
The first consultation involves the annexation of the population centers Seccha, Tantana, Santa Rosa de Patopampa, and Wariwayin from the La Unión district to the Rondós district. The second involves the annexation of eleven population centers from the Chaglla district to the Daniel Alomía Robles district.
Registration will take place during October to establish the electoral roll, which is estimated to include over 2,600 people. To be eligible, citizens must demonstrate at least two years of residence in the consultation area as of the April 30, 2026, convocatoria date. The process follows resolutions issued by the National Jury of Elections (JNE).
