Reniec enables online appointments for minor DNI processing in Peru

The National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) has confirmed that parents and legal guardians can now schedule in-person appointments online to process identity documents (DNI) for minors. This digital system is designed to streamline the process and reduce physical queues.

To secure an appointment, the responsible adult must first pay the processing fee through authorized channels such as Yape, BCP agents, Banco de la Nación, or Págalo.pe. Once payment is confirmed, the user must access the official Reniec appointment manager, select the option for minors, and validate the information for both the adult and the child.

This appointment system is strictly for obtaining or renewing identity documents. No appointments are required for civil registry procedures or for picking up a DNI that has already been issued. More than 20 locations across Lima and various regions, including Cusco, Arequipa, Piura, and Iquitos, offer this service.
