Renishaw expands Miskin manufacturing site in South Wales

Renishaw is marking the 15th anniversary of its Miskin site in South Wales following the completion of the first phase of a £70 million development project. This investment, announced in 2022, represents the largest capital investment in the company’s history and aims to eventually double the size of the facility.

Since acquiring the 193-acre site from Robert Bosch Ltd in 2011, Renishaw has invested approximately £150 million in acquisitions, refurbishments, and new manufacturing halls. The workforce at the Miskin site has grown from approximately 25 employees at its 2012 opening to around 950 today.

The expansion is designed to meet rising demand for precision metrology, additive manufacturing, and position measurement products. With the completion of Hall 3, usable space has increased to 617,000 square feet; once Hall 4 is operational, the site will reach 880,000 square feet, making it one of the largest advanced manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom.
