Renishaw launches PH20 PLUS 5-axis touch-trigger system

Renishaw has launched the PH20 PLUS, a new 5-axis touch-trigger system designed for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Replacing the established PH20 head, the new system provides an inspection reach increase of over 50 per cent.

The PH20 PLUS features a redesigned A-axis with a new kinematic mount, allowing for longer and heavier probe configurations. This improvement enables users to access features deep inside parts or in hard-to-reach areas, offering a maximum working length of up to 300 mm from the centre of the A-axis when using a 50 mm stylus.

Building on technology from the REVO 5-axis measurement system, the PH20 PLUS aims to minimize dynamic errors at high speeds. Product Manager Nathan Fielder stated that the system is designed to appeal to existing PH20 customers by allowing them to reuse existing part programmes and measurement strategies while benefiting from increased flexibility and reach.
