Rennas Guimarães presents solo exhibition at Funarte in Rio

Visual artist, researcher, and educator Rennas Guimarães is presenting her solo exhibition, ‘Entre sistemas: o corpo em fuga’, at the Centro Técnico de Artes (CTA) of Funarte in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition, which runs until September 30, utilizes industrial rubber flooring as a primary material for investigation.

Guimarães’ work explores how systems of organization, repetition, and control influence human experience. As a recipient of the Funarte Aberta 2026 program, she is the first visual artist to hold a public exhibition occupation in the CTA’s Multipurpose Room.

The exhibition is also part of the inaugural Semana de Arte do Rio 2026, an initiative by the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Secretariat of Culture. This event, held from September 16 to 27, 2026, integrates various artistic languages, urban interventions, and cultural activities across the city's central region to strengthen the local cultural economy.
