Rennes court case involves cannabis and grenade seizure

A 56-year-old man, Franck H., appeared before the Rennes criminal court following a police search in the Blosne district. During the intervention, authorities discovered a safe containing 1,640 euros in cash and one kilogram of cannabis, along with another kilogram of cannabis and an obsolete grenade in the kitchen.

Franck H. claimed the drugs and cash belonged to young people he was hosting for 20 euros per night, asserting he was merely a ‘nanny’ for their belongings. The prosecution, represented by Vincent Varlet, argued that the defendant had become involved in a storage scheme. The prosecutor requested an eight-month prison sentence, which could be adjusted due to the defendant's health following a previous stroke. The defense argued that the man was a victim of the situation.
