Rennes negotiates new coach contract and plans busy transfer window

Stade Rennais has opened talks to extend the contract of head coach Franck Haise, who took charge after Habib Beye left for Marseille and has since delivered eight wins in twelve Ligue 1 matches, securing European competition qualification. Club sporting director Loïc Désiré confirmed that discussions are under way to secure a longer‑term deal beyond Haise's current contract, which runs until June 2027.

At the same time, Rennes is preparing an active summer transfer market. The club aims to offload several players – Lilian Brassier, Alidu Seidu, Jordan James, Ludovic Blas and Breel Embolo – to free up funds. Potential incoming signings include right‑back Bryan Reynolds from Westerlo and striker Eliezer Mayenda, among other targets. The moves are intended to give Rennes the depth needed for Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Europa League.

The combined strategy underscores Rennes' ambition to cement a regular place among France’s top clubs while competing on multiple fronts next season.
