AS Saint-Étienne secures narrow 1-0 victory over FC Nantes

AS Saint-Étienne maintained their position at the top of Ligue 2 with a 1-0 victory against FC Nantes at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The decisive goal was scored by Augustine Boakye in the 90th minute, providing a late breakthrough in a match that had been largely controlled by the home side but characterized by Nantes' defensive resilience.

Saint-Étienne coach Ian Cathro praised his team's growing collective maturity and ability to remain composed under pressure. The win extends the club's lead at the top of the table to six points ahead of Nancy.

For FC Nantes, the defeat highlights ongoing defensive vulnerabilities despite a strong individual performance from defender Saïdou Sow. Nantes coach Grégory Poirier expressed pride in his team's tactical discipline and fighting spirit, noting that they missed key opportunities to secure a result before conceding late.
