Renny Harlin directs Samuel L. Jackson in action thriller ‘The Beast’

Director Renny Harlin reunites with Samuel L. Jackson for the high-concept action thriller ‘The Beast’, set for theatrical release on October 9. The film features Jackson as the President of the United States and Joel Kinnaman as a wounded Secret Service agent, Taft.

The plot follows the two men as they are trapped inside the presidential armored limousine during a coordinated global terrorist attack that cripples the U.S. national defense apparatus. The narrative is described as a relentlessly paced, high-octane experience that plays out in real time, focusing on the survival of the two characters within the confines of the vehicle as they attempt to reach an extraction point through a war zone.

Critics have noted the film as a throwback to classic action-thrillers, emphasizing the intimate character dynamics between the President and his agent amidst large-scale destruction and technological warfare.
