Renowned Guitar Professor Blagoje Melezović Dies at 74

Blagoje Melezović, a distinguished guitar professor and music pedagogue, died unexpectedly at the age of 74. Born in Šekovići (now Bosnia and Herzegovina), he completed secondary music school in Tuzla and graduated from the guitar department of the Music Academy in Sarajevo. He taught for decades in Bosnia, later continuing his career in lower music schools in Loznica and Zvornik (Republika Srpska), influencing generations of guitarists who have won national and international awards. Melezović will be buried on Monday at 13:00 in the city cemetery of Loznica.

His former students and colleagues remember him as a modest, dedicated teacher whose lifelong commitment left a lasting imprint on music education in the region.
