Renu Kaswami murder case sees new approver applications, adding pressure on jailed actor Darshan

The murder of Renu Kaswami in Bangalore continues to unfold as new court filings emerge. The 14th accused, Pradosh, has applied to be declared a "maafi sakshi" (approver) before the 59th CCH court. His lawyer also asked that his video‑conference appearance be from a separate jail cell, away from actor Darshan.

Two other accused, identified as A8 Ravishankar and A10 Vinay, have filed petitions to be treated as approvers, stating that their co‑accused are willing to tell the truth. The defence for the earlier approver, Pradosh, objected to adding the new petitions, arguing the court should first record his statement. The court has postponed the hearing.

If the applications are accepted, the statements could strengthen the prosecution’s case and increase legal pressure on actor Darshan, who is currently the second accused and serving time in jail.
