Rep. Al Green files impeachment articles against Donald Trump
Representative Al Green (D-Texas) has filed new articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, alleging “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The resolution claims the President has failed to uphold his constitutional oath and is abusing presidential powers by using U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as “unaccountable paramilitary police forces.”
The articles specifically cite the deaths of four individuals in 2026—Renee Good, Alex Pretti, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, and Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero—alleging that the agencies involved committed and covered up unjustified killings.
This move comes as Democrats prepare for the 2026 midterm elections. While Green has introduced impeachment articles previously, including during Trump’s first term and in June 2025 regarding strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, none have resulted in removal from office. Trump was previously impeached twice by the House but was acquitted by the Senate in both instances.
