Rep. Brandon Gill says Democratic Socialists will destroy Democratic Party

During an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Rep. Brandon Gill (R‑TX) warned that the rise of Democratic Socialists would lead to the demise of the Democratic Party. Gill rejected the view that the Tea Party was harmful to Republicans, arguing that the Tea Party was built on fiscal prudence and that most Americans still value fiscal conservatism. He claimed, “These Democratic socialists are fundamentally trying to destroy this country… This will absolutely rip apart the Democrat Party.” Host Laura Ingraham asked, “Congressman, is it not true that the Republican Party, since the Tea Party, has gotten stronger and stronger?” Gill responded that the comparison was “ridiculous.”
