Rep. Cory Mills Under DOJ Criminal Investigation

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into Republican Representative Cory Mills of Florida’s 7th District. Sources say the probe concerns his finances and other alleged misconduct, but the DOJ has not disclosed specific charges.

Mills is simultaneously facing a separate House Ethics Committee inquiry that began in November 2025 and includes allegations of campaign‑finance violations, sexual misconduct, domestic‑violence incidents, dating‑violence claims and possible misuse of office resources. Former Miss United States Lindsey Langston has obtained a restraining order against him, and Rep. Nancy Mace (R‑SC) has filed a resolution calling for Mills’s expulsion from the House.

Mills, who serves on the Armed Services and Intelligence committees and is a Trump‑endorsed candidate, told reporters he “knows nothing” about the DOJ investigation and suggested it may be tied to the Ethics Committee’s work. He remains in the August 18 Republican primary and is seeking a third term in the November 2026 election.
