Rep. Glenn Grothman criticizes Democratic energy policies

Wisconsin Republican Representative Glenn Grothman has criticized Democratic energy policies, arguing they are responsible for high gas prices and inflation. During a television interview, Grothman claimed that Democratic opposition to oil drilling in Alaska, fracking in North Dakota, and the Keystone XL pipeline has led to a supply shortage, driving up costs for consumers.

Grothman cited California as a specific example of the impact of these policies, noting gasoline prices there reached $6.40 per gallon compared to $4.05 in other regions. He warned that without expanded domestic energy production and increased refining capacity, high fuel costs could persist for the next 15 years. He further cautioned that increased government spending continues to fuel inflationary pressures.
