Rep. Keith Self introduces resolution denouncing Sharia law

Simultaneously, a political dispute has intensified in McKinney, Texas, involving Rep. Self and Democratic congressional candidate Evan Hunt. The conflict stems from a local controversy regarding a mosque relocation proposal approved by the McKinney City Council. Hunt has accused Self of attempting to intimidate council members to deny the mosque building plan, while Self has defended residents' rights to participate in local government without fear of retaliation. The Department of Justice has reportedly been notified regarding alleged intimidation measures related to the local recall efforts and the mosque proposal.
