Repair café des Trois-Châteaux hosts community event in Bennwihr

The Repair café des Trois-Châteaux recently held an event in Bennwihr, part of the Pays de Ribeauvillé community in Alsace. This bi-monthly initiative moves between 16 different localities to encourage citizens to repair household items rather than discarding them.

Organizers emphasize that the café is not a standard after-sales service, but a space for mutual aid and shared learning. Participants are encouraged to actively engage in the repair process themselves. Since its inception in 2015, the initiative has successfully diverted several tons of objects from landfills by classifying items into those that can be fixed immediately, those requiring new parts, and those that are beyond repair.
