Repcone digital safety program opens registration for Black women journalists in Latin America

The second edition of the Rede de Proteção Digital para Comunicadoras Negras (Repcone) is now accepting applications until 5 August. The free programme, organized by the Rede de Jornalistas Pretos, offers training in cybersecurity, psychosocial support and legal guidance aimed at Black, Indigenous and quilombola women who work as journalists or community leaders across Latin America.

Coordinated by Marcelle Chagas, the initiative coincides with the International Month of Black Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (culminating on 25 July). It seeks to strengthen participants’ ability to defend against online harassment, disinformation and other forms of digital violence, while building a trans‑national network of support and resilience.
