Reply AI Film Festival connects technology and cinema

The Reply AI Film Festival has launched a global competition to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence experts and the international film industry. The festival showcases short films created using generative models, machine learning, and other AI technologies for storytelling, visual effects, and sound design.

Catherine Hardwicke, director of 'Twilight', serves as a juror for the international competition. Hardwicke noted that AI provides filmmakers with the opportunity to realize grand visions without the massive budgets typically required by major studios, suggesting that creators will no longer need the status of directors like Christopher Nolan to produce large-scale projects.

The festival's winners will be announced in Venice during a special event hosted by Reply and Mastercard, held in conjunction with the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The competition received over 3,000 short film submissions from 76 countries, featuring various styles including animation and live-action.
