Reporters Without Borders launches Uncensored Library in Minecraft

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has established ‘The Uncensored Library’ within the video game Minecraft to bypass government censorship. The project utilizes the game to host articles and news reports that are blocked or prohibited in various countries.

By converting censored journalism into in-game books, RSF provides access to information in both English and the original local languages. The digital library is housed in a massive neoclassical building composed of 12.5 million blocks, inspired by structures like the New York Public Library. The project was developed by the BlockWorks builder collective, DDB Berlin, and the studio monks.
