Republic Day celebrations held in Gaziantep and Elazığ

Various events were held across Turkey to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the Republic. In Gaziantep, the Gaziantep Anadolu Lisesi Alumni Association (GALMED) organized a traditional Republic Day ball at the Teymur Hotel.

The musical group ‘Şimdi 90’lar’, featuring Eda and Metin Özülkü, Jale, and Sibel Alaş, performed for alumni and guests. The performance included the anthem ‘Parla’ and various 1990s Turkish pop hits.

In Elazığ, a collaborative event between a local private kindergarten and the Harput Culture and Art Association (HAKSED) took place at the historic Kapalı Çarşı. Kindergarten students performed the song ‘Ölürüm Türkiyem’ for local merchants and citizens. The performance led to an emotional moment when an elderly man was moved to tears by the children's singing and a gesture of respect from one of the students.
