Bosnia and Herzegovina sets modest July pension hikes in both entities

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to apply a July pension alignment lower than the previously announced 5.8‑6%, with unofficial estimates suggesting an increase of less than 4.9%. The final rate will be confirmed in August after the Federal Statistical Office releases official data. The adjustment will affect more than 470,000 pensioners, with the minimum pension currently at 666.76 KM and the maximum at 3,333.79 KM.

In the Republika Srpska entity, the government approved an emergency alignment of 3.55% for July 2026, bringing the total 2026 pension increase to about 10% when combined with the earlier 6.45% rise. The minimum pension was set at 361.75 KM, with higher brackets ranging up to 723.70 KM. The finance ministry allocated 180 million KM for June pension payments and announced one‑off cash assistance of 120 KM for beneficiaries earning below the average pension and 80 KM for those above. Additional budgetary resources of roughly 1.5 million KM per month (about 7.5 million KM for the year) are required to fund the new rates.
