Republic of the Congo: New 3R political party established

The Rassemblement des républicains réformateurs, known as 3R, has officially launched following a constituent congress held on October 30 and 31 at the Palais des Congrès in Brazzaville. The new political formation aims to establish a structured presence within the Congolese political landscape.

Juste Désiré Mondelé, the former secretary general of Club 2002-PUR, has been appointed to lead the party. Mondelé presided over the congress and has positioned the 3R within the presidential majority. The movement began its structuring process on September 4, 2026, with the signing of a unification and foundation charter.

The congress included delegates from all fifteen departments of the country, seeking to create a national organization based on social-liberal, republican, and popular values. Participants emphasized a commitment to unity and the creation of a common political house, moving beyond previous individual sensitivities and political divisions.
