The Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) and the Alliance of Pensioners of Serbia have conducted a series of regional forums in cities including Stara Pazova, Irig, Pirot, and Babušnica. These meetings allow elderly citizens to directly communicate their concerns, suggestions, and rights to officials, including PIO Director Relja Ognjenović and Alliance President Andreja Savić.

During these sessions, officials highlighted significant increases in average pensions compared to 2012 levels. For instance, in Pirot, the average pension rose from approximately 20,200 dinars to 53,000 dinars, while in Irig, it increased from 19,000 to nearly 45,000 dinars. Additionally, the PIO Fund has invested in infrastructure, such as the complete reconstruction of the Pirot branch, which cost over 130 million dinars.

Relja Ognjenović announced that September is dedicated to senior citizens, noting that pension payments have begun several days early. He also revealed that on September 14, the state will implement a one-time financial assistance package totaling 377.2 million euros. Furthermore, an official announcement regarding a new pension increase is expected in the coming days.
