Kyiv bridge and Black Sea ship targeted in Russian airstrikes

Russian forces conducted extensive airstrikes and drone attacks across Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure and logistics. In Kyiv, the South Bridge over the Dnipro River was struck, leading to its closure to both vehicular and rail traffic. Additionally, a 25-story residential building in the Darnitsa district was damaged by fire, resulting in at least one death and two injuries.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the bridge was targeted to disrupt military logistics for Ukrainian forces in the Donbas region. Other targets included a substation in the Kyiv region, an industrial complex in the port of Ismail used for military fuel and cargo distribution, and a cargo ship in the Black Sea reportedly carrying military equipment to Odesa.

Ukraine reported significant drone activity, noting that Russia launched 108 drones, including 47 jet-powered models, though Ukrainian forces claimed to have intercepted 88. Conversely, Russia claimed its air defenses destroyed 646 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and the Black and Azov Seas. The Ukrainian General Staff reported a massive scale of operations over the past day, including 95 air raids, 284 guided bombs, and nearly 8,900 attack drones.
