Republican Governors Urge Senate to Pass Trump's $95B Budget Plan

A coalition of Republican governors, led by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and including leaders such as Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott and Mike Dunleavy, sent a joint letter to President Donald Trump urging the U.S. Senate to approve a $95 billion budget reconciliation package. The plan, promoted by the White House, bundles defense spending, farm aid and election‑integrity measures contained in the SAVE America Act.

The governors argue the legislation is essential to restore confidence in elections, bolster national security and support American farmers. They request Senate action to move the bill forward as part of the administration’s broader funding request for the Department of War and related defense programs.
