Republican Gubernatorial Primary Spending Outpaces Fundraising in Arizona and Florida

In Arizona, two trailing Republican gubernatorial candidates have depleted most of their campaign war chests. Congressman David Schweikert reported $1.2 million spent, leaving only $42,495 cash on hand. Businessman Scott Neely spent the bulk of his $1.1 million fund, retaining $218,000. Front‑runner Andy Biggs, by contrast, reported more than $1.2 million in the bank after spending $2.4 million.

In Florida, the GOP primary shows a similar pattern of out‑of‑pocket spending. Rep. Byron Donalds spent roughly $6.95 million in a single week, raising about $810,000 and retaining nearly $60 million for the remainder of the campaign. Lt. Gov. Jay Collins spent $2.1 million while raising less than $9,300, leaving about $1.1 million. Businessman James Fishback raised under $6,500, spent $75,000 and has roughly $50,000 cash left. Former House Speaker Paul Renner raised $9,200, spent $2,100 and holds about $2 million in reserves.
