Republican Midterm Convention set for September in Dallas

The Republican Midterm Convention is scheduled for September 9-10 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The event, which aims to energize voters ahead of the November midterms, is expected to draw tens of thousands of attendees. President Donald Trump is expected to headline the convention, which will feature state representatives on the floor but will not include nominating speeches or formal delegate voting.

Public ticket applications have opened via the convention website, with winners to be notified on September 4. The party is also seeking volunteers for the two-day event.

In response to the gathering, a coalition of activist groups, including the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, has announced plans to protest the convention. Dallas police have stated they are aware of the planned demonstrations, though specific security perimeters and march routes have not yet been released.
