Republican Turkish Party approves 2026 parliamentary candidate nominees

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Party Assembly has unanimously approved its list of parliamentary candidate nominees for the upcoming general elections scheduled for December 6, 2026.

According to party regulations, Party Leader Sıla Usar İncirli will be the first candidate for Lefkoşa, and General Secretary Mehmet Kale Kişi will be the first candidate for Girne, both without undergoing a primary election. To finalize the candidate lists and their rankings, CTP members will participate in a primary election on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The party has also scheduled a series of introduction meetings across various regions to present the nominees to party members. These meetings are set to begin on October 5 at the Girne Dome Hotel, with subsequent sessions in Güzelyurt, Lefke, Mağusa, İskele, and Lefkoşa through October 8.
