Republican Turkish Party Youth Organization elects new leadership in Lefke

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Youth Organization held its ordinary congress in the Lefke district, where Ali Oktay was elected president. A new executive committee was appointed, comprising Berk Öreç, Burcu Kurtcebe, Cenk Apaydınlı, Ural Başoğlu, Vedat Ergel and Zekai Serdar. The meeting was attended by members of parliament and numerous party youth members.

During the congress, CTP Youth leader İsmail Barbaros emphasized that the organization will address youth problems together, cited the recent visit of the United Nations Secretary‑General to Cyprus, and expressed optimism about the peace‑process. He outlined the goal of preventing young people from having to leave the island and of building a sustainable, fair and healthy society. Barbaros also noted that the schedule for local elections is set and that general elections are approaching, urging youth to take active roles as the party moves toward power.

CTP Lefke district head Tuncay Sarıyer added that the party will be the force to revive the country, stressing preparation for upcoming elections through coordinated work of youth, women, district and village units.
