A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 49 % of U.S. adults say they understand Democratic Socialist policies while 47 % say they do not, highlighting widespread uncertainty about the movement. The poll also showed similar mixed views of MAGA Republicans.

Candidates linked to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have won primary races in New York, Colorado, California, Michigan and other states, and more than 35 DSA‑endorsed Democrats have secured nominations ahead of the November midterms.

The DSA’s newly released platform calls for sweeping constitutional changes: abolishing the Senate, the presidency and the Supreme Court, replacing them with bodies answerable to Congress; eliminating ICE and U.S. borders while granting amnesty to illegal immigrants; defunding the Pentagon and the Department of War; and ending prisons and police departments. DSA co‑chair Megan Romer confirmed these proposals on Fox News, prompting Republican leaders to denounce the platform as a communist threat and to use it against Democratic candidates in upcoming elections.
