Republicans lead in nine key Senate races according to new poll
A new poll released by the non-partisan aggregator Interactive Polls indicates that Republican candidates are leading in nine key Senate races for the 2026 elections. These races are critical in determining which party will hold the majority in the 100-seat chamber.
According to the data, several incumbents hold leads, including Kansas Senator Roger Marshall by 5 points, Nebraska Senator Pete Ricketts by 5 points, Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan by 2 points, Maine Senator Susan Collins by 2 points, and Ohio Senator John Husted by 1 point. Additionally, Republican Representative Ashley Hinson leads by 4 points in an Iowa open seat race.
The poll also shows tied races for open Senate seats in Michigan and New Hampshire, while Flanagan holds a 1-point lead in the Minnesota Senate race. Currently, the Republican Party controls the Senate, and Democrats require a net gain of four seats to retake control.
