Republicans Mark Lamb and Abe Hamadeh win Arizona congressional seats

Republican candidates Mark Lamb and Abe Hamadeh have secured victories in Arizona congressional contests, according to Associated Press projections.

Mark Lamb, the former Pinal County Sheriff, is projected to win the 5th Congressional District, defeating Democratic nominee Elizabeth Lee. Lamb succeeds Republican Representative Andy Biggs, who vacated the seat to run for governor. Lamb’s campaign previously faced allegations of sexual misconduct reported by the Arizona Republic, including claims of sending explicit messages and threatening retaliation against women.

Abe Hamadeh is projected to win a second term in the 8th District, defeating Democrat Bernadette Greene-Placentia. The 8th District race drew attention regarding financial disclosure compliance notices sent by the Federal Election Commission to the Greene-Placentia campaign, though these notices did not constitute findings of legal violations.
