Republican National Committee to host first midterm convention in Dallas

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is hosting its first-ever midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for September 9 and 10 at the American Airlines Center. The two-day event, which has been nicknamed ‘Trumpapalooza’, is expected to host approximately 30,000 guests and feature over 100 speakers.

Keynote addresses are slated for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. The convention aims to bolster support for the GOP ahead of the November 3 congressional elections, focusing on themes such as border security and immigration. The estimated cost of the event exceeds 40 million dollars.

While some Republican strategists view the convention as a positive opportunity to energize the base in competitive states like Texas, others have expressed concerns regarding the rapid organization and high costs of the gathering.
