Republika Srpska advisors propose declaring Robert Golob persona non grata

Advisors to Milorad Dodik, the former president of Republika Srpska, have announced plans to propose declaring Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob a 'persona non grata' within Republika Srpska. This move follows Slovenia's decision to ban Dodik from entering the country, a measure taken due to concerns regarding his separatist actions and perceived threats to the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Marko Romić, an advisor and general secretary to Dodik, characterized the Slovenian government's actions as politically motivated and lacking legal basis. Romić highlighted historical energy cooperation, noting that electricity from the Ugljevik thermal power plant has long supplied the Slovenian economy. He warned that such 'hostile policies' could lead to economic consequences, including entrepreneurs from Republika Srpska withdrawing capital from Slovenia.

The diplomatic friction follows a criminal complaint filed against Golob regarding the entry ban. While the Slovenian government maintains that Dodik's actions destabilize the Western Balkans, officials in Republika Srpska view the ban as a punitive measure for Dodik's defense of the Dayton Agreement.
