Republika Srpska assembly faces scrutiny over spending transparency

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) is facing criticism for withholding data regarding the spending of parliamentary clubs. While funds for 2023 and 2024 totaled 500,000 KM, the budget is set to increase to 800,000 KM for the 2025-2026 period. These funds cover various expenses, including travel, materials, accommodation, and food for deputies. Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina has called for this information to be made publicly available, arguing that the lack of transparency undermines institutional trust.

In a separate political development, Mirjana Orašanin, a candidate for the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), has criticized the current administration's economic claims. Orašanin argued that official statistical growth does not reflect the lived reality of citizens facing rising costs for food and basic necessities. She stated that the economic situation is better measured by citizens' ability to pay bills and afford groceries rather than through official percentages.
