Republika Srpska reports 1,688 KM average salary and 3.6% inflation

Economic data from the Republic of Srpska for July shows an average monthly net salary of 1,688 KM, representing a nominal increase of 8.5% and a real increase of 4.7% compared to the same month last year. The highest average net salaries were recorded in professional, scientific, and technical activities at 2,257 KM, while the lowest were in the hospitality and catering sector at 1,283 KM.

The annual inflation rate stands at 3.6%. Significant price increases were noted in transportation (up 12.1%), driven by a 19.4% rise in fuel and lubricants, and housing/utilities (up 11.6%), largely due to a 24.5% increase in water supply costs. Hospital services saw a substantial increase of 139.1%.

Conversely, some sectors saw price decreases. Hard yellow cheese fell by 28.8%, milk in tetrapaks by 26.8%, cabbage by 24.2%, and fresh cucumbers by 21.1%. Clothing and footwear also saw a seasonal decrease of 3.9%, while food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1.9% annually.
